A case of rape survivor's father dying in Uttar Pradesh Police custody has recently surfaced. Notably, the man was arrested on Sunday when he along with his daughter, who alleged BJP MLA of raping her last year, attempted suicide outside CM Yogi's Lucknow residence.

The man was admitted to the district hospital on late night Sunday by the Police authorities when he complaint of abdominal pain and vomiting. Unfortunately, several attempts to save his life turned futile as he passed away in wee hours of Monday, confirmed the hospital authorities.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath has finally reacted in the matter stating, "It is an unfortunate incident. ADG Lucknow Rajeev Krishna has been asked to probe the matter thoroughly. Those at fault, whoever they might be, will not be spared."

Unnao Superintendent of Police Pushpanjali Devi has already suspended two police officers and four constables and further investigation is going on. Any more details would be revealed only after the parted soul's postmortem.

The rape survivor has accused the Uttar Pradesh Police of not taking appropriate action against Unnao MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar who raped her along with his accomplices. Disappointed in the system and the threats looming over their heads forced the family to take such an extreme step.

While the accused MLA is still roaming around freely, the victims family members were taken into Police custody soon after they tried to set themselves ablaze. They were taken to Gautam Palli Police Station where they tried to commit suicide again but were rescued.

The sudden death of the victim's father has raised multiple red flags against the system and UP's ruling party. The victim stated, "I was raped. I have been running pillar to post for the last one year but no one is listening to me. I want to see all of them arrested, otherwise, I will kill myself."

The accused MLA has refused to be a part of any such crime as claimed by the woman and her family but Lucknow's Additional Directorate General of Police (ADG) Rajiv Krishnan has revealed that the two parties involved in the case were in a dispute for over a decade.

The rape survivor has claimed that after she filed a Police complaint last year, her family was threatened and thrashed but the authorities failed to take any action. "I had even approached the CM to no result. When we lodged an FIR, we were threatened," she said.
