Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar spent 4 years in Ghaziabad's Dasna Jail accused of the double murder of their daughter Aarushi and the domestic help Hemraj, before they were recently acquitted of all charges.

As Rajesh and Nupur Talwar prepare to be released from the jail, which is expected on Monday, they have confirmed to the prison authorities that they will return to the Dasna Jail every 15 days to attend to inmates and officials facing dental problems.

The dentists had been interred in the Dasna prison since November 2013 after a CBI court awarded them a life sentence in the double murder case, and the duo had been largely responsible for the revival of the nearly defunct dental department of the prison hospital.

"We were concerned about the fate of our dental department after their (Talwars) release. They (Talwars) have assured us that they would visit the jail to attend to inmates every 15 days even after their release," jail doctor Sunil Tyagi said.

Tyagi added that apart from inmates, the Talwars also treated jail staff, police officials and their children.

"Since Talwars have come here (prison), they have treated thousands of patients who are happy with their services," he said.

"The doctors from the dental college will also visit Dasna Jail twice a week to attend to patients so that inmates don't face a problem," Tyagi added.

According to jail sources, apart from Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, Rajesh's brother Dinesh Talwar, an ophthalmologist would also visit the Dasna prison every 15 days to see patients.
