Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked by chilli powder at Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday. And in the ensuing scuffle CM's spectacles broke too.

The accused has been identified as Anil Kumar has been arrested and taken into study.

The attack took place outside Kejriwal’s chamber on the third floor when he was leaving for lunch.

The attacker also threatened to shoot the chief minister, according to media reports, "After attacking the chief minister, he shouted that he will kill him and that he has already announced the same in a Facebook post,"

Further, reports said that a close aide of Kejriwal told that the man was carrying chilli powder, matchboxes and tobacco.

The AAP blamed the Delhi Police for lapses in Kejriwal's security.

"I was right behind  Arvind Kejriwal at the Secretariat when he was suddenly attacked, on the third floor right outside his office. Shocking lapse of security. Is this Delhi Police's incompetent effort to protect an elected CM?" AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha said.
