Delhi Metro Pink Line Corridor Connecting South Campus- Lajpat Nagar Open To Public

The all-new Pink Line corridor of Delhi Metro connecting Lajpat Nagar-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus has been flagged off by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Minster Hardeep Puri on Monday.

Commuters will be able to use the section from Monday itself from 1:00 PM onwards. The corridor of 8.10 Km will benefit passengers with comfortable access to south Delhi Markets.

The six metro stations that come under the corridor are Lajpat Nagar station, South Extension station, INA station, Sarojini Nagar station, Bhikaji Cama Place station and Moti Bagh station. All these stations except the Moti Bagh station are underground.

After the access of this new corridor, people will get the privilege of a convenient shopping experience at Lajpat Nagar, INA, South Extension and Sarojini Nagar markets.

Other than easy market access, commuters will also be able to save their time as from Lajpat Nagar to INA, the new section would only take 5 minutes 7 seconds and from Lajpat Nagar to Rajouri Garden, it would only take around 28 minutes 45 seconds to travel.

The metro stations have been decorated with beautiful artwork and paintings conveying the message of environment importance.

With the inauguration of this Pink Line new section, only 28.93 km long section between Lajpat Nagar and Shiv Vihar will be left for opening under the Delhi Metro Pink Line.

After the completion of the entire corridor, the distance between from Majlis Park station to Shiv Vihar station will be 58.59 km long.
