CM Yogi Adityanath Leads Gomti River Cleanliness Drive In Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a Gomti cleaning drive on Sunday in Lucknow. He was accompanied by his cabinet ministers, mayor, and a number of MLAs.

A team of District Officers with 7000 Volunteers have been deployed with safety gear at every 10 meters starting from the Gau Ghat to the barricade under 1090 crossing. Medical vans equipped with all necessary first aid material were deployed at every 50 meters range.

The 1090 crossing is divided into four zones of Lucknow Municipal Corporation which will be headed by eight zonal officers in order to keep a complete check on the water hygiene of the river.

CM Adityanath addressed the gathering and put forward a thought of citizen's participation in the cleanliness drive.

He said, "Mahatma Gandhi had dreamt of was not only about an independent India, but also a clean India. Our vow should be to clean our country and serve Mother India. There are so many countries in the world that are known for their cleanliness, and that is due to the efforts of the citizens in those countries." He made the people gathered for the event to take that pledge.

These events put forward the idea of achieving clean India along the lines of the Swachh Bharat initiative.
