As clash erupted between locals and security officials in Rajasthan's Jaipur, at least one person has reportedly died while 12 others are injured. The police has imposed a curfew in the city and mobile services have been suspended.

News Agency ANI reported, "1 policeman lost his life, 10 injured in a clash with locals after a policeman allegedly hit a woman in Jaipur's Ramganj. Curfew imposed."

According to reports, the clash erupted after a policeman hit a bike rider who was allegedly trying to flee after the cops stopped him for a routine check-up in the city's Ramganj area.

The police said, "Curfew has been imposed till further orders in Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Galta Gate and Ramganj police station areas of the city following violence in which a police station was attacked and vehicles burnt."

The reports also said that locals pelted stones at the security forces in some areas making it difficult for the police to control the violent mob. The police used tear gas and the district administration imposed a curfew to maintain law and order in four police station areas.

However, hundreds of people gathered outside the police station and started creating a ruckus. While the police tried their best to pacify the mob, their efforts were in vain.

The police then resorted to lathicharge and the angry mob started burning vehicles.
