Chhattisgarh: PM Modi Inaugurates Expanded Bhilai Steel Plant And Integrated Control And Command Centre

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the modernized and expanded Bhilai Steel Plant on Thursday in the state of Chhattisgarh.

Earlier, this day, he also inaugurated the Integrated Command and Control Centre in the Naya Raipur city in the state. Naya Raipur is the upcoming capital of the state of Chhattisgarh.   

Prime Minister Modi also held a roadshow in Bhilai. He will address a public meeting at Jayanti Stadium in Bhilai later this day. PM is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the permanent campus of IIT Bhilai.

This is Modi’s second visit to the state in last two months prior to the polls that are scheduled to happen in the month of November this year.

The new command centre will control and monitor online water and power supply, sanitation, traffic movement, integrated building management, city connectivity and Internet infrastructure (data centre), under one roof. The facility will also monitor the city of Naya Raipur.

The command and control centre will be managed through a Geographic Information System (GIS) platform, where the residents can register their complaints regarding any dysfunction in the services through helpline numbers.

Modi arrived at the Swami Vivekanand Airport in Raipur on Thursday morning on a day-long visit to the state and directly proceeded to Naya Raipur. He was accompanied by Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh during the inauguration of the command and control centre.
