In the ongoing investigations into the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exam question paper leaks for Class 12 Economic and Class 10 Maths, the Delhi Police on Sunday arrested 2 teachers and a coaching centre owner.

The 3 arrests have been made on the suspicion of their involvement in circulating the leaked CBSE question papers on WhatsApp groups, after crime branch officials questioned a principal and 6 teachers of 3 public schools in Delhi.

According to reports, the arrested teachers who work at a private school in Delhi have been identified as Rishabh and Rohit, while the arrested coaching centre tutor has been identified as Tauqeer.

The paper leaks came to light when an anonymous 'Whistleblower' emailed the CBSE chairperson Anita Karwal a day before the Class 10 Mathematics exam on March, informing her of the paper being leaked on WhatsApp. CBSE stated that since there was not sufficient time to cancel the exam, they let it continue and instead opted to conduct a re-exam.

During the investigations into the paper leaks, more than 60 people, including 53 students and 7 teachers have been questioned.

The Delhi Police also reached out to search-engine giant Google to trace the IP address of the 'whistleblower' so as to get more information into the case. Google responded on Saturday, to the Delhi Police, but the details of the response have not yet been made public.

The announcement of the re-exams, which would affect nearly 28 lakh students, was met with massive protests by students as well as their parents, on the students being forced to re-take an exam due to a 'mistake' of the CBSE.
