CBSE Paper Leak: 3 Including One Teacher Arrested Over XII Economics Paper Leak From Himachal

The unfortunate incident of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) paper leak, investigations are underway. In another development, Police has arrested 3 people Himachal Pradesh including a teacher, clerk and support staff for leaking 12th Economics paper in handwritten form.

Delhi Police special commissioner is scheduled to address a brief press at 3.15pm today to reveal further information about the three arrested and the level of their involvement in the massive leak. Earlier, Delhi Police has arrested 2 teachers and a coaching centre owner for leaked paper circulation.

Post the information of paper leak reached the CBSE chairperson Anita Karwal through an anonymous 'Whistleblower' who emailed her the original 10th Mathematics paper a day before the exam, the Board decided to re-conduct the 10th Maths and 12th Economics examinations.

The re-conduct would have affected nearly 28 lakh students which led to massive protests students and parents questioning the sanctity of CBSE's assessment system. Following the protests, the board decided to not hold a re-examination for class 10th students keeping their interest in mind.

However, Class 12th students will have to appear for Economics re-exam on April 25. The decision to let the 10th students go without a re-exam was taken after a thorough examination of their answer sheets which didn't appear affected by the leak. The Class 10 paper leak was restricted to Haryana and Delhi.


Teachers should have taken their responsibilities seriously.
