As China once again put on hold a proposal at the United Nations for a ban on Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, as a global terrorist for the fourth time since 2009. A wave of rage rose on social media platforms against China.

Twitter has been flooded with #BoycottChineseProducts and #BoycottChina as Twitteratis reasoned that ChinaBacksTerror, and this time too, no one is taking it lightly. India imports about $55 billion worth of goods and products from China.

More than 10 countries had supported India's bid to designate JeM Chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist in the United Nations Security Council 1267 list, as co-sponsors.

China’s action was condemned by the US for saving Azhar, in a move which it termed as ‘contrary to the goal of regional stability’. “The case for designating Masood Azhar – the leader of a group the UN already calls an Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist organization – is undeniable,” it asserted.

Government sources here said the latest “hold” was another sign of China’s “double standards” on terrorism.

Here are some reactions to China’s latest move of saving terrorist Masood Azhar for the fourth time.
