A speeding vehicle on Saturday killed nine school children and injured 20 in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. The opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal has alleged that the vehicle, a Bolero belongs to Manoj Baitha, a BJP leader from Sitamarhi district.

RJD leader and former deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that the driver was carrying a BJP tagged vehicle and was also in an inebriated state which caused the incident. Yadav said that BJP had gone blindfold on the issue.

Tejashwi was speaking to media persons after visiting the injured children and the families of the victims at the hospital. He said that the driver of the vehicle that killed these children was drunk and questioned how people were getting liquor easily in a state where prohibition has been enforced.

"The vehicle has a BJP board attached to it and the driver was drunk at the time of the incident. BJP leaders are totally drunk in power," he said.

As per reports, Manoj Baitha was reportedly present in the vehicle at the time of the accident, but he along with the driver fled and reportedly went underground after the incident. Baitha is the General Secretary of BJP in Sitamarhi and is a known figure in Bathnaha Assembly.

Tejashwi Yadav shared Manoj Baitha’s pictures on Twitter, posing with CM Nitish Kumar and several senior BJP leaders and alleged that he was not caught yet because of Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi’s patronage.
