The Bajrang Dal in Hyderabad took out rallies and protests before shops, offices, and pubs in the city that were celebrating Valentine's Day on Thursday.

Continuing with their 'tradition', the Hindutva group said that they will deploy 30 teams across Telangana, especially in public parks and malls to thwart couples from indulging in activities against the country's 'culture and traditions'.

The pubs and malls in the city were also warned by the group against the conduct of special programmes to attract couples. "Conducting such programmes are against our culture and tradition which also spoil the youth who go to pubs, take drugs and drink," said Subash Chandra, the State Convener for Bajrang Dal in Telangana.

However, pub owners rejected Bajrang Dal’s demand. They also increased their security by hiring more number of bouncers.

It may be mentioned that Valentine’s Day is one of the big events for pub owners after New Year’s Eve. In the event, DJs from Mumbai, Delhi are invited in many pubs in Hyderabad.

State Co-ordinator of Bajrang Dal, Himanshu Bhusan Das on Wednesday said that posters, hoardings, and placards will be put up in parks and other public places to oppose the day and create awareness among the couples against adopting western cultures by celebrating V-Day.

The Hyderabad city police say they have deployed sufficient forces to ensure no untoward incident happens in the city due to Bajrang Dal's protest.
