Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has once again landed himself in controversy over his extreme statements, and this time his words have targeted the Indian Army. The leader accused Army soldiers of misbehaving with local women, forcing the women to resort to chopping off the private parts of soldiers in revenge.

"A fight is going on the border, but at one place, women killed soldiers. This act forces us to think that there might have been a reason for doing so," Azam Khan said.

"Soldiers have been beaten by women in Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam and their private parts were also chopped off... India's truth is that women are forced to act against Army rapists. It is a message that Hindustan should be ashamed of," said Khan during an event in Rampur in western UP.

"India is deviating from its path after six decades and is adopting the path of bullet instead of ballot and the result is there for everybody to see," the former Uttar Pradesh minister said.
