Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is reportedly suffering from a kidney-related ailment and is currently undergoing diagnostic tests. News reports suggest that he is expected he will undergo a kidney transplant.

The key member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet has not been attending office since Monday and even skipped taking oath after being re-elected as Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh.

Noticing the present condition of FM Jaitley, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, and several others tweeted their greetings for his speedy recovery.

In September 2014, Arun Jaitley went for a bariatric surgery to treat weight gain that he suffered because of a long-standing diabetic condition. The surgery was first performed at Max Hospital but later shifted to AIIMS because of some complications.
