Bharatiya Janata Party National President Amit Shah did a Press Conference after the declaration of poll dates for the Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

Speaking at the press conference, a confident Shah went hammer and tongs claiming that BJP would get a thumping majority in the state elections. He also condemned the Congress party and chief minister Siddaramaiah of diving Hindus.

Interestingly when Shah started to speak of corruption, he mistakenly called the BJP’s Chief Ministerial Candidate and former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa a corrupt.

He said, “If there is a competition for corruption then Yeddyurappa Govt will win the number one award in corruption”.

A BJP leader had to whisper in Shah’s ear to make him correct his statement. Yeddyurappa was seated next to Amit Shah.

The Congress party was quick to take a dig at Amit Shah and the BJP. Karnataka Congress tweeted a video clip of Shah’s gaffe and wrote, “The Truth can never be suppressed. Even Amit Shah agrees that Yeddyurappa led the Most Corrupt Government ever.” It also used the hashtag BJP420.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also used the video to take a dig at Shah and Yeddyurappa.

Congress party’s head of social media Divya Spandana too tweeted the video and wrote, “Who knew Amit Shah could also speak the truth- we all concur with you Amit Ji Yeddyurappa is the most corrupt!

She also tweeted an old video of Amit Shah mistakenly taking Yeddyurappa's name when he actually wanted to criticise Siddaramaiah. Spandana wrote, "This isn’t the first time btw- what exactly are Amit Shah’s feelings towards yedyurappa? All’s not good in the hood-"
