Salman has already spent two restless nights in Jodhpur Central Prison as Qaidi Number 106 and today's order determined his fate further. Salman's lawyer Mahesh Bora had submitted a 51-page bail plea and quoted various loopholes in the investigation.

Bora affirmed that no enquiry has proved that Salman used firearms and argued that the accounts of the eyewitnesses were unreliable. On Thursday, Salman was convicted of killing two endangered blackbucks during the shooting of his film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998.

While other actors accused in the case including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonali Bendre along with a local, Dushyant Singh were acquitted, Salman was found guilty and sentenced for 5 years in prison and a monetary fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on him.
