After Killing 2 Colleagues, Army Jawan Commits Suicide In Himachal Pradesh

An Army Jawan commits suicide on Monday after killing two of his colleagues in the Dharamshala cantonment in Himachal Pradesh. 

Kangra police official was quoted by the Hindustan Times as saying, "A soldier of 18 Sikh Regiment ran amok in the early hours shooting two of his colleagues before killing himself."

“The incident took place around 2:15 am inside the cantonment,” he added.

When the commanding officer of the 18 Sikh Regiment, Col Navdeep Brar was contacted he said that Jasbir Singh had an argument with the two soldiers. The soldiers killed by Singh have been identified as Havaldar Hardeep Singh and Naik Harpal Singh. 

Singh had fired on them with his INSAS rifle before shooting himself.

Singh has joined the army a year and a half ago, while the other killed by him, was working in the Indian Army for 23 years and 18 years.

The moment incident took place, additional Superintendent Police Badri Singh has reached the spot.

He said that a forensic team from the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (RFSL) Dharamshala, have also reached the crime spot and collected the vital pieces of evidence.

The Kangra police and officials of the military intelligence have started the investigation into the matter and have taken the bodies of the soldiers for the postmortem.
