The Special CBI Court acquitted all 16 accused including A Raja and Kanimozhi in the 2G Spectrum Case. Questions are now being raised on the veracity of the CAG report that led to the 2G case with people asking if there actually was a scam.

As soon as Justice OP Saini delivered the judgment that brought cheers in the jam-packed courtroom, Congress leader and former Minister in the UPA government Manish Tewari took to twitter asking former CAG Vinod Rai to apologise for throwing the presumptive sensational figures of 1.76 thousand crores number in public discourse.

He went ahead to question the foundation of the present NDA government.

Veteran Journalist Pankaj Pachauri who served as Communications advisor to PMO under Dr. Manmohan Singh stated that Vinod Rai himself was not convinced of his facts but pursued after being sidelined for higher government postings.

Former Union Minister Kapil Sibal who had famously argued during the UPA tenure that there was Zero loss in the 2G spectrum allocations too asked former CAG Vinod Rai to apologise. It was because of CAG’s doing that the 2G spectrum allocations were cancelled and that eventually led to the NPA mess that the nation is facing, Sibal added.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera tweeted “When will #VinodRai be convicted?”

Senior Journalist Shekhar Gupta in a satirical tweet asked for a super empowered court monitored committee to be formed under Vinod Rai to find the 1.76 Lakh Crores.

Mumbai PCC President Sanjay Nirupam tweeted “Nothing less than apology from former CAG Vinod Rai is going to work now. The whole 2G scam figure was fictitious and was a deliberate attempt to defame Congress party and its allies. After today's Court verdict Mr Rai shd come out & tender apology publicly.”
