Tamil Actor Vishal In Arrest For Trying To Forcibly Enter Producers Council Office

Tamil actor Vishal got arrested by the police on Thursday for trying to break into Tamil Film’s Producers Council (TFPC) office on Yogambal street in T Nagar and Anna Salai in Chennai.

A section of film producers had locked the office demanding his resignation on Wednesday. Currently, the actor serves as the TNFPC President. 

They alleged that Vishal was involved in a lot of criminal activities, and demanded him to hand over the accounts of the Council and resign.

Vishal and his supporters reached the Council’s office on Thursday morning. The police, deployed to prevent any clash between the two factions, tried to persuade Vishal to leave.

Refusing to leave, Vishal argued with the police in a bid to try break open the lock. Police then detained him.

He accused the police of preventing office bearers of the Council to enter the property. He was then detained by the police and taken to the Teynampet Police Station.

According to media reports, Vishal said, "I have not done any mistake. They are not allowing me to go inside my office. If we ask questions they are arresting us. This is unbelievable."

A complaint had been filed against Vishal by the producers for financial irregularities, but the cops did not file an FIR yet.

Vishal filed a complaint against the producers who locked up the TFPC office in T Nagar. Reportedly, the police deployment outside TFPC office was to maintain law and order and prevent the two sides from clashing.
