Actor Mahesh Anand Passes Away At 57, Decomposed Body Found At Mumbai House

Mahesh Anand, who essayed negative role in a number of Bollywood movies, was found dead on Saturday at his residence in Mumbai under mysterious circumstances.

The police said that his body was found in a decomposed condition. He’s believed to have died at least two days ago. Virtually jobless, he was living alone for several years as his wife stayed in Moscow.

His body was sent to the nearby Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem to ascertain the time and cause of death. Even though the police could not find a suicide note, the possibility has not been ruled out.

A popular actor in the late 1980s and 1990s, known for his tall and tough body frame, he was usually seen as the main henchman of the villains in several films but was facing huge financial constraints for many years.

The actor had acted in several hit films including 'Shahenshah', 'Coolie No. 1', 'Swarg', 'Kurukshetra' and 'Vijeta'. He shared screen space with top Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Govinda, and Sanjay Dutt.

According to media reports, as of now, the Versova Police have registered a case of accidental death. They have also informed Anand's sister who resides in Mumbai.
