As the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government completes 3 years in power in the state on February 14, the party is taking out a 'Vikas Yatra' from Sunday. The Yatra will be organised in every constituency, highlighting the "good work" done by the Kejriwal government, state Labour Minister Gopal Rai said on Saturday.

"The party is launching a drive to share the accomplishments of the AAP government with the citizens of Delhi on February 11. The aim is to establish a dialogue with the citizens," Rai said to media.

In the 'Vikas Yatra', party functionaries, Aam Aadmi Party ministers and lawmakers will be taking part, to popularise the government's work over the past 3 years. Rai added that in the second phase of the Yatra, party functionaries, especially 'booth in-charges' will meet the people of their areas and share information on the work being done by the state government.

Highlighting the achievements of the AAP government, Rai said that it has provided round-the-clock electricity while dramatically reducing its charges, with the rate for low consumption of below 400 units reduced by half. In addition, the government has provided free water for those who consume less than 20,000 litres, thereby not only making water free but also reducing the water consumption.

The 'yatra' comes at a time when the party is facing possible bypolls after 20 AAP MLAs were disqualified for holding 'office of profit'. Although the Aam Aadmi Party has attempted to expand in other states to establish a national presence, it has not secured much success.
