Following the alleged manhandling of the Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash by Aam Aadmi Party MLAs on Monday night at CM Kejriwal's residence, one of the AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal was arrested from his residence in Deoli on Tuesday night, whereas, Amanatullah Khan said he will cooperate with the police and surrendered on Wednesday morning accompanied by his supporters.

AAP leaders have condemned the arrest of Prakash Jarwal and tweeted that he was recently married and Delhi Police arrested him on a frivolous complaint from IAS.

The IAS Association who lodged their protest to Lt Governor Anil Baijal over the matter, on Tuesday said that in public interest Delhi Government officers and staff will continue to work in their offices, but no officer will attend meeting beyond office hours, till effective action is taken against all those involved.

The Central IAS Association condemned the shocking attack on the Chief Secretary of Delhi and called for immediate arrest of the remaining culprit of the act. The IAS Association released a press report over the incident.

DN Singh, a DANICS officer and a member of the Delhi Government Employees Welfare Association, said this was a constitutional crisis. “If the Chief Secretary can be attacked, we are not safe.”

Manisha Saxena, Secretary of IAS association added that the association will work wearing a black bandage saying, “As far as IAS and DANICS associations are concerned, there is not going to be any strike. We will continue to work for the welfare of Delhi’s public, but we will work with a black badge. We have expressed deep concerns to the L-G on the incident that happened on Monday night. We hope the L-G will take strong action. There is a criminal conspiracy to assault Delhi’s chief secretary.”
