Former Telecom Minister A Raja in his tell-all book, ‘2G Saga Unfolds’ has slammed the former CAG Vinod Rai alleging that Rai over-reached his constitutional mandate because of ulterior motives. In his book, Raja also questions the silence of the then PM Manmohan Singh.

Raja has said the 2G verdict "will remain a black mark in the history of CAG" and has demanded Vinod Rai be prosecuted. Raja also hints that the former CAG was not working on his own,“It is my conviction consequent to the trial proceedings that there was a political motivation to kill UPA 2 and Vinod Rai’s was the shoulder on which the gun was placed,” writes Raja.

He also has a grouse over the “silence” of Manmohan Singh and then cabinet colleague P. Chidambaram in defending his “wholly justified” actions when institutions like the Central Vigilance Commission(CVC), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) and the Supreme Court were “refusing” to hear his defence.

Special Judge Om Prakash Saini pronounced the judgement on cases filed by the CBI and ED stating that the prosecution has completely failed to prove the charges,A Raja and 15 other accused in the 2G allocation case were acquitted.
