7 Killed, 20 Injured As Bus Plunges Into Pond In Assam

At least 7 people killed and more than 20 people were injured after an Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) bus fell into a pond in Assam’s Nalbari district on Saturday.

The injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.

According to reports, the driver of the speeding bus lost control of the vehicle on its way to Barpeta from Guwahati via Mukalmua at around 3.30 pm.

The moment incident took place, locals reached the incident spot and called the police. 

The locals have also been assisting the police and the local administration in the rescue operation.

Around 50 passengers were travelling when the accident occurred and there is a possibility that some are still be trapped inside.

Last week on Sunday, in a road accident, nine members of a family were killed in Rajnandgaon, a city in Chhattisgarh.

The family was returning from Dongargarh after a visit to a temple when their Bolero SUV hit a truck.
