38-Year-Old Shot Dead Allegedly By Drug Peddlars In Delhi, Locals Set Vehicles On Fire [WATCH]

Yet another shooting incident was reported in the national capital in the late hours of Sunday from the Taimoor Nagar area of the South East Delhi.

A 38-year old was identified as Rupesh was shot dead by two unidentified bike-borne assailants and the incident was captured in the CCTV cameras.

The locals and the family are alleging that the victim’s brother was an anti-drug activist and this attack and there is their involvement in this. According to sources, the body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem

In the CCTV footage, two men can be seen walking up towards Rupesh on a busy street and they shot him in the chest before walking off. After the incident, unrest has marked the area. After the news of Rupesh’s assassination spread into the area, the locals launched fierce protests and set several vehicles on fire Incidents of stone pelting and scuffle with the police teams on the spot was also reported.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East Delhi, Chinmoy Biswal said, “Around 9 pm in the night we got a call on PCR saying that two people shot one person and ran away. Looking at this, the locals of the area protested against the police and even pelted stones on police jeep and burnt a bike forcing us to call more security force to handle the situation. Now everything is under control and we are investigating the matter."
