20 Rounds From AK-47 Kill Former Bihar Mayor Samir Kumar & His Driver In Muzaffarpur [WATCH]

Former Bihar Mayor Samir Kumar and his driver were shot dead in Muzaffarpur district of the state on Sunday.

According to media reports, The incident took place at 7:30 in the evening near the Banaras Bank roundabout in Muzaffarpur when Samir Kumar and his driver, who were travelling in a Hyundai Accent car, were overtaken by a motorcycle. The men forced the driver to stop the car and started firing indiscriminately using AK-47.

Town Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mukul Ranjan told the media, "We are investigating the case. More than 20 rounds using AK 47 have been fired in this incident. Several empty bullet cartridge have been recovered from the crime scene. We are scanning through the CCTV footage to identify the criminals."

A CCTV footage accessed by News World India shows the two bike borne gunmen firing at the mayor and his driver after stopping his car near Banars Bank Chowk.

The police have registered a case and is investigating the matter, they are also scanning the footage obtained by the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera of a nearby school.
