"The situation is heading towards normalcy, and markets have opened. Three drone cameras have been deployed for aerial surveillance of the entire city as most of the incidents took place in the peripheral areas," Additional DG (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said.

"The IG, Aligarh has ordered the setting up of a special investigation team which will go through all evidence and objectively probe the case," the ADG (L&O) said.

Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar also added that normalcy was being restored in the city.

On January 26, a motorcycle rally on the occasion of Republic Day passed through Kasganj with the chanting of 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and reached the minority-dominated community of Baddunagar where 'anti-social elements' pelted stones and opened fire. In the firing, one youth was killed, and two others injured.

Following the death of the youth, clashes erupted, resulting in shops, buses and a car being torched.
