'We Have Lost One MiG-21 And An IAF Pilot Is Also Missing In Action,' Says MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar

The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs has now confirmed that one MiG-21 pilot of the Indian Air Force was missing in counteraction where IAF successfully shot down Pakistan’s F-16 fighter jet.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said in press conference, "We, unfortunately, lost one MiG-21 in this engagement and an Indian pilot is missing in action. Pakistan claims the pilot is in their custody, however, we are ascertaining the facts."

"In the aerial engagement, a Pakistan fighter aircraft was shot down by a MiG-21 Bison. The aircraft was seen by ground forces falling on the Pakistan side," he added.

Raveesh further said, "Pakistan responded to India's counter-terrorism action this morning by using its Air Force to target military installations on the Indian side."

The MEA spokesperson added that the Pakistani aircraft was seen by ground forces falling from the sky on the Pakistan side.

Pakistan had earlier claimed that it had shot down two aircraft of the Indian Air Force and captured two pilots. Pakistan also released a video claiming that it is of an Indian pilot.
