30 Passengers Suffered Nose Bleeding As Jet Airways Crew Member Forget To Press Button

In a could be even more distressing incident on Thursday, 30 passengers have suffered ear and nose bleeding while travelling through Jet Airways.

The incident happened during the flight's climb as a crew member forgot to press a button (bleed button) that maintains the pressure inside the aeroplane.

The Jet Airways Mumbai-Jaipur flight-a 9w697 that departs from Mumbai at around 6 am every day was carrying 166 passengers and five crew members. It had turned back and landed in Mumbai where the affected passengers were offloaded and were attended by the doctors at the airport.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the Director General of civil aviation, which regulates civil Industry in the country tweeted, “MoCA has taken cognizance of the incident in flight 9W 697 earlier today and has requested DGCA to file its report immediately on the issue. The crew is being derostered. Of the 166 people on board, 30 were affected and have been given treatment.”

Jet Airways has also confirmed the incident and said that the two pilots have been taken off duty until the investigation.

Darshak Hathi, a passenger who was travelling in the flight said, "The flight landed at Mumbai airport after an hour and we were told that we will be shifted to a different flight. This is an unfortunate incident."
