The Delhi High Court on Thursday delivered a significant verdict in cases of sexual harassment amidst the #MeToo campaign and restrained a woman journalist from describing the alleged incident on social media or any other public platform.

The woman journalist who had accused her senior employees of sexual harassment last year was asked by the Delhi HC restrain from sharing her details, or make comments on the issue or disclose the identities of those involved in the case on all media platforms.

A bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V.K. Rao directed both sides to refrain from making comments on the issue or disclosing identities of those involved on the social media.

Earlier in 2017, The court had passed an order directing the suppression of the petitioner’s identity and that of the others involved.

The bench while restraining any third party from broadcasting such details said, “None of the parties should give any media interviews on the case.”

The court  order came after an application was moved by private persons against whom the woman had levelled allegations of sexual harassment. The application contended that the woman was disclosing identities of persons involved in the matter despite a high court order to the contrary.
