Try These Natural Recipes For Hair Growth

Everyone dreams to have good and strong, shiny and beautiful hair. Here are some hair growth treatments that you can make in your own kitchen using essential oils, herbs, fruits and even some veggies.

1.Castor Oil-  Castor Oil comes from seeds of the Ricinus communis plant, which is native to tropical areas of Asia and Africa. The oil itself is pretty greasy, which means that you might want to dilute it to avoid any hassles. Add it with some almond oil or coconut oil and massage it into your scalp. You can also use castor oil by itself, massage it into your scalp, leave it overnight.

Recipe- Apply several drops of castor oil to your scalp and massage it thoroughly. Cover your hair with a shower cap, a silk scarf, or some other covering and leave it overnight. Shampoo and condition, as usual, the next day. Alternatively, mix the castor oil with olive oil or almond oil and follow the same directions.  You can use it daily or every other day depending on your hair type and texture, you can also apply it on your eyebrows to get thicker brows or even your eyelashes.

Castor oil is available mostly at all grocery stores or you can order it online.

2. Vinegar Rinse- Vinegar helps hair to restore its optimal pH value. It steals the cuticles, making each stand shinier and stronger and less prone to breakage. In terms of both growth and quality, vinegar makes an amazing treatment.

Recipe- Mix 1 part vinegar with two parts of water. To minimize odour, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Use as a final rinse after shampoo. You can use it 1-2 times a week. Whatever vinegar you choose, you will find it at your grocery store.

3. Egg Yolk and Olive Oil Mask- Egg yolk is rich in proteins, vitamins and will make your hair softer, shinier and healthier. Yolk holds more than 90% of the calcium, iron, zinc, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12 and covers all the fat-soluble Vitamins: A, D, E and K. Olive oil also strengthens and softens your hair, its ideal for dry or damaged hair. It exfoliates your tresses while strengthening the colour of your hair and maintaining the texture.

Recipe- Mix 2 egg yolks with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then dilute the mixture with about half a cup of water. Massage the paste thoroughly. Let it sit on your hair for about 15-20 minutes. As usual, shampoo and condition your hair. This treatment is effective enough that you only have to do it 1-2 times each month.

4. Banana Mask- Bananas are rich in potassium and Vitamins A, E, and C which make them the best choice for homemade hair growth treatments. 

Recipe- Pick a soft ripe banana, mash it up into a paste, apply it to your hair and cover it with a plastic cap or bag to lock in the nutrients. Remove the cap after 20 minutes. Shampoo your hair and rinse it well. You can also add olive oil or almond oil to your paste. Try this treatment once a week for the best results.


5. Onion Juice- Onions are really healthy for your hair.

Recipe- Juice one onion- you just need a small one in a juicer. After collecting the juice add 1-2 teaspoons of honey. You can either apply the mixture all over your hair or just to the spots that look thin. You can also add your favourite oil. Use this treatment at least once or twice a week.

6. Lemon and Olive Oil - If you experience dandruff, you can use this mask to hydrate your scalp and get rid of those flakes.

Recipe- Mix 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and massage it into your scalp. Wrap in a warm towel and let the mixture sit for 20 minutes then rinse and shampoo your hair.

7. Beer Rinse- Believe it or not Beer is great for frizzy and dry hair. Dark coloured beers contain lots of nutrients and natural sugars which can leave you with shiny strands. This is why beer-shampoos are in vogue.

Recipe- Take one cup of flat- room temperature beer and work into hair shampooing, let it sit for few minutes then rinse with cold water. You can use the beer rinse once or twice a week.

8. Aloe Vera- This is another hair growth treatment that's easy to make and is also very effective. It helps to reduce dandruff and conditions your hair promoting hair growth. The treatment also works great to detangle and to define curls and calm itchy scalps.

Recipe- Add 4 ounces of water and 4 ounces of aloe vera gel to a small bowl and stir lightly with a spoon. Pour the contents into a bottle and shake it well. Add 10 drops of any oil of your choice and shake lightly. You can use this daily or as often you like.

9. Coconut and Ginger - Fresh ginger roots contain vitamins that make your hair stronger and healthier. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids that nourish and moisturizes the scalp and hair.

Recipe- Take 2/3 inch ginger, peel and cut into smaller pieces. Blend it or grate it. Take a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Strain ginger juice into the coconut oil. Mix it well until the ginger juice is well incorporated with the oil. Start applying from the roots to the ends of your hair. If you apply it regularly to your hair, it will reduce the breakage of your hair and stimulate hair growth.
