BJP's controversial legislator Sangeet Som reportedly bought land in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh for a meat processing plant in 2009.
Som who has been in news for his controversial speeches and a recent remark after Dadri lynching incident, bought the plot with two others in the UP district.
According to the documents accessed by Hindustan Times, Som is one of the directors of Al Dua Food Processing Private Limited. The BJP legislator bought the land along with Yogesh Rawat and Moinuddin Qureshi.
The website of the meat company claims it as “leading units of halal meat” that produces the best quality meat of halal buffalo, sheep and goat.

The daily claimed that the BJP leader has accepted the buying of plot but refused to be aware of his appointment as one of the directors of the company.
“I purchased the land which was sold to Al Dua Food Processing Private Limited after a few months,” he reportedly told the newspaper.
“I am a Hindu hardliner hence there is no chance of getting involved in activities which are against my religion,” he further added in an interview with the HT. Justifying his claim Som told media that he would quit the political life if his role was proved.
