Congress President Rahul Gandhi who is on his tour of Malaysia was asked a hypothetical question on demonetisation on Saturday. He was asked how he would have rolled out demonetisation differently.

Rahul replied, “If I was Prime Minister and someone had given me a file with demonetisation written on it, I would have thrown it in the dustbin”. His remark was accompanied by applause and roar from the audience.

“That’s how I would roll it out. I would roll it out in the dustbin and out through the door and into the junkyard, because that's what I think should be done with demonetisation.” He added.

The Congress President has been a strong and vocal critic of the demonetisation. On the first anniversary of demonetisation Rahul had called demonetisation a tragedy and a thoughtless act of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
