Eenam Gambhir, Indian Secretary To UN, Who Termed Pakistan As 'Terroristan'

India gave a befitting response to Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the United Nations in New York this week as India's first secretary with the permanent mission to the UN Eenam Gambhir termed the neighbouring country as Terroristan.

"In its short history, Pakistan has become a geography synonymous with terror. The quest for a land of the pure has actually produced ‘the land of pure terror’. Pakistan is now terroristan," Eanam Gambhir said at the UN.

She had also made a slamming response to the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last year when the Pakistani leader had raised concerns over the situation in Kashmir valley.

A Delhite at the core, Eanam Gambhir is an Indian diplomat who has had a lifetime of experience dealing with Pakistan.

She was earlier a part of the ministry of external affairs' Pakistan division then posted to New York.

An alumnus of Delhi University's Hindu College, Gambhir is also an IFS officer from 2005-batch.

So far in her career, she has served in Madrid, Spain, Argentina and Brazil.

She raised alarming questions for Pakistan asking the country how the country is still a safe haven for terrorist groups despite its army vaunted counterterrorism operations and billions of international dollars in terrorism aid.

Currently, Gambhir represents India at the UN Security Council on issues related to Reform, Counter-terrorism, Cybersecurity issues, Security Council (regional issues), All Special Missions including those approved by UNSC, NAM coordination and Outreach w Universities/Colleges - Coordination.
