Want to beat the heat this summer? As the temperature soars high, dehydration and laziness creeps in. Summer takes a toll on the health and to balance it out, there's nothing better than sipping on something sweet and cool in the summertime, right?

Well Just like hot drinks can be rich in calories during the winter, cold drinks can also be calorie culprit in the summer. Smoothies, cocktails, and anything fruity is full of sugar, instead of drinking your way to weight, sip you way to a smooth and slender waistline. Just by replacing the sugary ingredients for summer drinks and enjoy the sunshine and oh boy lean waistline at the same time.

1. Muskmelon- Muskmelon is the powerhouse of health, loaded with a variety of nutrients. Their seeds contain fibre which helps in losing weight. It helps to regulate the blood sugar levels thereby helping controlling diabetes. They are rich in Potassium which helps in regulating the blood pressure, losing belly fat and keeps hypertension at bay.

2. Watermelon- Over 90% of a watermelon is water. Place diced watermelon and a few ice cubes in a blender of cold, refreshing electrolyte drink that is perfect for rehydrating after exercise in the sun. You can jazz up a boring salad by adding some watermelons to it with some mint, and fresh mozzarella to a bed of spinach leaves. Smoothies are a good way to consume watermelon. Their high water content makes them not too thick and they can be ready to drink in seconds. 

3. Lemons- Lemons have less than 1 gram of sugar per fruit. They make a sterling ingredient to sweeten up a glass of water, they add a tart taste that curbs your sweet tooth. You can also squeeze lemons into smoothies, veggies, tea, or make sugar-free lemonades.


4. Lime- Just as lemons, limes are sugar-free. They are used the same way and are high in Vitamin C, which makes them cleansing and refreshing. 

5. Unsweetened Almond Milk- Choose unsweetened almond milk instead of dairy milk if you want to drop off those kilos quickly. At only 30 calories per cup with no sugar, soy, lactose, Gluten, carbs. 


6. Apple Cider Vinegar- Lastly, if you are having a cup of ice water, here's a trick- add some lemon, and a dash of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar lowers your blood sugar and surely prevents fat storage in the body.
