The first Sunday of the month of August marks the celebration of the unbreakable bond of friendship. This day is celebrated across the world as the Friendship Day.

You may have heard about many best friend stories like the mythological bond of Krishna-Sudama or the unbreakable bond of cricketing duo Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag. But little did you know, about the friendship and bond between one of the two most influential political leaders of the country – BJP Presdent Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

I: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah are a team like no other. Both work in close cooperation, have a perfect understanding, and trust.

But, How Did It All Start?

The duo met in the early 80s under the umbrella guidance of their ideological organization – The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). While Shah was a junior worker then, Modi was the Pracharak.

They came closer when in 1984, Narendra Modi became Ahemdabad District Pracharak and Amit Shah became a worker of the Bhartiya Janta Party.

Amit’s understanding of the issues and suggestions during the meetings stuck Narendra Modi. When in 1986 Modi became the Secretary of the Gujrat BJP, Amit Shah was given important political tasks like booth management and strategy formation. Even when, Modi fell in 1996 against Keshubai Patel, Shah stayed with him all across his bad days.

Second Innings

When Modi began his second innings on the political grounds of Gujrat in 2001, when he became the Chief Minister of the state. Amit Shah, who was then merely 38 years old, became one of the youngest politicians in the Indian history to hold around 17 portfolios in the cabinet.

Not Equal But Still Strong And Together

The Modi Shah bond is not of equals but is still one of the strongest bonds in the political field. In this Modi is the dominator both by years and powers.  While Modi is the visionary, Shah is the one turns those visualizations into reality with his keen knowledge and understanding of the issue combined with sharp and precise strategies.

Besides his fealty, it is Shah's smartness, political acumen and, above all, perfect reading of Modi's mind, whether in politics or in governance, that make him virtually indispensable for the prime minister.

The Dual Strike In 2014 General Elections

Amit Shah was the mastermind behind the 2014 uproar of “Abki Baar Modi Sarkaar”. Shah was the man who created the master-plan of the 2014 general elections. Acting as the National President of the Bhartiya Janta Party, Shah created a plan that led a historic majority win and forcing the Congress Party to a all time low of just 44 seats.

The Days Of Stress

According to media reports of 2000 period When Amit Shah was jailed as a co-accused in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case in July 2010, Modi went through a stressful and depressive state. It was said that when at that time people who met Modi, said that he acted as a completely different person lost in his own world of how to get Shah out of the prison.

The jail term was possibly the longest separation between Modi and Shah and a vindication of their nearly three-decade-long partnership that has withstood the test of time.
