Many Bollywood and sports celebrities are making headlines lately for contributing to cleanliness in their own little ways. Newlyweds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are among the influential personalities who never shy away from voicing their concerns for India's development.

In the latest effort of preaching their followers the importance of keeping roads clean, the 'Zero' actress stopped a luxury sedan to school the man inside a lesson against littering on roads. The man, apparently, tossed a plastic wrapper out on the road from his car's window.

Call it sheer bad luck or karma, his little act caught the attention of couple inside another luxury car passing by. Instead of letting the incident go, the furious actress stopped the car, rolled down her window and scolded the man inside for sitting in a luxury car and throwing garbage on road.

The man was completely taken back by such a sudden and unexpected encounter with the actress as she asked him, "Why are you throwing garbage on the road?" While an irritated Anushka scolded the person, her proud husband took it upon himself to record the incident and post it on social media.

Both the celebrities were visibly hurt and upset with the incident, which reflected off Virat's caption, "Saw these people throwing garbage on the road and pulled them up rightfully. Travelling in a luxury car and brains gone for a toss. These people will keep our country clean? Yeah right! If you see something wrong happening like this, do the same and spread awareness."

However, the man who is identified as Arhhan Singh was humiliated by Anushka's mannerisms and took his stand to Facebook. He wrote, "While I’m apologetic for my carelessness , Mrs AnushkaSharma Kohli a little etiquette and politeness in ur dialogue wouldn’t have made u a lesser star !! There are all kinds of manners and hygiene .. verbal etiquette is one of them! (sic)."

The video has gone viral within hours of being posted on social media. While many lauded the actress for her courage, others trolled the pair for seeking attention via such stunts, to which Virat responded, "Lot of people who don’t have the courage to do something like this find it funny. Everything for people nowadays is meme content. Shame."

Anushka Sharma was earlier associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. In 2017, she was named as the face of a countrywide campaign to clean the streets, roads and for the infrastructural development of the country.
