Veteran Actress Nargis Rabadi Aka Shammi Aunty Passes Away, Condolences Pour In

Veteran Bollywood actress Shammi Aunty passed away on Tuesday morning in Mumbai. The actress was 89. Shammi was well known for her roles in 'Dekh Bhai Dekh’ and ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi' starring Farah Khan and Boman Irani.

This sad news was shared by Sandeep Khosla on his Instagram account that took the news further ahead. He shared a picture and wrote, “we will miss you, you will always remain special to us. RIP #ShammiAunty”

Shammi was born in 1931, in a Parsi family. She was an Indian film actress who appeared in over two hundred Hindi films. Her famous films as supporting actress included Half Ticket, Halaku, Samaj Ko Badal Dalo and films with Rajesh Khanna like The Train, Red Rose, Aanchal, Kudrat, Awara Baap, and Swarg.

From 1986 till 1998, she appeared in many popular television serials such as Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh and Filmi Chakkar. Shammi was married to film producer, director Sultan Ahmed for seven years before they were divorced.

Many Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, have expressed grief at her demise.
