Uri: The Surgical Strike, headlined by Vicky Kaushal, has been declared the first bona fide box-office hit of 2019. The war film, in its three-week run, has collected a handsome Rs 167 crore and if the current trend is anything to go by, it is expected to continue its sparkling performance.

Uri has out-earned Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kaabil (Rs 103.40 crore) to become Yami Gautam’s biggest hit till date. “Very happy with the kind of response that the film has earned and is continuing to have a great run at the box office,” the actor said according to the media reports.

The first film to have a higher second weekend than the first one

In the box office history, Uri has become the first film to have a higher second-weekend collection than its opening weekend. Well, that shows the power of the content.
