Total Dhamaal Box Office Collections Day 4: Ajay Devgn's Starrer Is Still On A Roll

Total Dhamaal had a ‘dhamaal’ Monday on Box Office as 9.85 crores came in. This is a good number indeed considering the fact that the opening day was 16.50 crore.

Despite getting stiff competition from Gully Boy in the metro cities, the comic caper dominated the single screens pan India.

The film released on Friday and since then it has collected over Rs. 70 crores. Taran Adarsh says that the film's first week total can be near Rs. 90 crores.

"Total Dhamaal puts up a winning total on Day #4 (Monday business Rs. 9.85 crores). Mass pockets/single screens are exceptional... Metros/cineplexes are healthy... Eyes Rs. 90 cr plus total in Week #1," he tweeted. The film's current box office total is Rs. 72.25 crore.

The film tells the tale of ten people, rushing to the Janakpur zoo to look for Rs 50 crore worth of booty. Total Dhamaal, also featured Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Boman Irani and Manoj Pahwa in important roles among others and received mostly negative reviews from film critics upon its release on February 22. The verdict of the audience, however, is starkly opposite.

Total Dhamaal has already created records - it is now is now the highest first-weekend opener of the year. While Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-starrer Gully Boy made Rs 51 crore in their first three days, the film released on a Thursday to capitalise on Valentine’s Day and its first weekend earnings - a total of four days’ earnings - were Rs 72.45 crore.

Vicky Kaushal’s Uri collected Rs 35 crore in India while Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika earned Rs 42 crore over the first weekend.
