'Responsible' Sushant Singh Rajput Turns Down Rs 15 Crore Fairness Cream Ad

With the changing scenarios in showbiz, actors are promoting a more responsible outlook towards encouraging their followers for using any product. While many actors have already joined the debate and criticised the idea of promoting fairness creams, the latest one to add his opinion to the matter is Dhoni fame Sushant Singh Rajput.

The 31-year-old actor has reportedly turned down a Rs 15 crore deal to become the face of a fairness cream. The responsible star was offered to appear in six advertisements for the established brand over 3 years, which he refused citing his responsibility towards the people who follow him wholeheartedly.

"Sushant doesn't believe in endorsing such products. So despite it being a lucrative offer, he immediately turned it down," a source told Mid-Day. "He feels that he needs to be responsible for the kind of products he lends his face to, as several people look up to him," he further added.

Last year Abhay Deol wrote a scorching social media post addressing the celebrities who endorse fairness product, following which actors like Priyanka Chopra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui joined his campaign and expressed their disappointment for the entire concept.

Sushant also cleared his stance regarding the same and told a leading daily, "As responsible actors, it is our duty to not indulge in sending out incorrect messages. We should not, in any way, endorse or promote the ideology of preferring one skin tone over another."

After making his Bollywood debut in Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che!, Sushant lend his face for a handful of critical characters which earned him many admirers. Having a busy year ahead, the actor has Sara Ali Khan's debut film Kedarnath, Drive and Chanda Mama Door Ke in his kitty.
