In keeping with the unusual 'horror comedy' genre of the film, the first song from the film Stree 'Milegi Milegi' released on Thursday is quirky as well, mixing Punjabi beats with Rajasthani sets, robot dance moves and latkas jhatkas.

The energy and expressions of the Stree's lead stars Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor is infectious as they dance to the peppy tunes. Sung by Mika Singh, the song has been composed by music composer duo Sachin-Jigar, and is sure to become a dancing favourite.

In the depiction of the song, actor Pankaj Tripathi appears as a King of sorts and Shraddha is brought in as dance entertainment while Rajkummar provides the music, but the end of the song shows an entire reversal of roles. Shraddha becomes the Queen while Pankaj and Rajkummar perform to entertain her. The depiction hints at the story of the film as well, which also has a role reversal.

Stree director Amar Kaushik said in a statement, “The idea of ‘Milegi Milegi’ is to give the audience a peek into what Stree is all about. Even though it is a promotional song, it encapsulates the essence of the movie and showcases the concept of the film.”

He added, “We really enjoyed shooting for the song as it’s a peppy number filled with a lot of ‘masti’ (fun) that got the entire cast grooving to the upbeat tempo. We are sure that the audiences will enjoy watching the song as well as break into a dance whenever the song plays.”

The film Stree is set to release on August 31.
