Sridevi Death Case Closed, Dubai Police Hands Over Her Body To Family

The first female Superstar of Bollywood Sridevi breathed her last on Saturday at the relatively young age of 54 in Dubai. Her sudden demise saddened the entire nation but the excruciating wait of bidding the legendary actress farewell was more disheartening.

Ending the two-day long delay, Dubai Police has finally handed over her body to the Kapoor family for completing the further process of repatriation. Post receiving the awaited clearance, her family moved towards the process of the embalming process, which the reports suggest has been completed.

Sources suggest that Boney Kapoor along with Sridevi's mortal remains has reached the Dubai Airport to board the private flight waiting for him. They will then be transported back to Mumbai where closed ones of the actress will pay their last respect to her before the final rites.

The investigation for Sridevi's untimely death has been closed by Dubai Prosecution Service. After the letter of releasing her mortal remains was handed over to the Indian Consulate, the 90-minute procedure of embalming started on Tuesday noon, Khaleej Times reported.

Boney Kapoor's son from the first wife, Arjun Kapoor has also joined his father in Dubai for completing the formalities and paperwork. The forensic report released on Monday confirmed that the 54-year-old actress died of accidental drowning, which no suspicious element involved.

Sridevi was found unconscious in the bathtub of the hotel room by her husband Boney Kapoor, who rushed his wife to Rashid Hospital, where the authorities declared the actress dead. Boney Kapoor was also interrogated by Dubai Police as he was the only person present during Sridevi's death.

After the completion of required formalities, Sridevi's dead body will be transported back to India for the cremation. Businessman Anil Ambani has reportedly sent his private jet to retrieve Sridevi's mortal remains from Dubai.
