South Indian megastar is all geared up for establishing his foot in Bollywood through the much-anticipated screen adaption of Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling novel 'The Zoya Factor'. Kerala's hit churning machine did a photo shoot with leading lady Sonam Kapoor to confirm the news.

The Abhishek Sharma directorial is yet to go on floors but the first draft of the script is reportedly ready and the book's author has been approached to polish the script further by introducing additional dialogues as per her understanding of characters.

Salman will play the role of Indian Team captain, Nikhil Khoda whereas Sonam will enter the shoes of an advertising agent, Zoya Singh Solanki. While Dulquer's character hails from North originally, the film will portray him as a South Indian guy with remarkable Hindi speaking skills.

Director told Mumbai Mirror, "Cricket woven into a rom-com and touching on superstition and luck, it’s an amazing book for a screen adaptation. The book has many layers, characters and tracks, so it took Neha Rakesh Sharma some time to pen a tight screenplay and Pradhuman Singh to write the dialogues."

Sharma admitted to Sonam being his first choice for playing the jovial character of Zoya, who goes on to become the lucky mascot for boys in Indian cricket team whereas Nikhil remains sceptical of her intentions. However, their cold war soon turns into something more.

Set in the backdrop of India's second World Cup in 2011, the film will be extensively shot in Mumbai, contrary to the book which is set in Delhi. The cast also including Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar will start shooting in August whereas the film will hit the theatres on April 5 next year.
