Based on the lines of his earlier hits 'Special 26' and 'Baby', acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey is back with his next directorial venture 'Aiyaary' starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpai. The military-based film takes inspiration from a real-life story with two strong-minded army officers.

The makers chose the occasion of Vijay Diwas to release the film's first official poster. Sidharth took the poster to Twitter with the caption reading, " #AiyaaryPoster is out now! This one is for all those who serve our nation selflessly. #Aiyaary in cinemas this #RepublicDay #VijayDiwas @neerajpofficial @BajpayeeManoj @Rakulpreet."

Sidharth and Manoj's characters will support completely different ideologies and mindsets which will create problems in their student-teacher relationship as Malhotra will be seen as Bajpai's protege. The film will have Rakul Preet Singh as Sidharth's love-interest whereas Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah will play pivotal roles in the film.

The star cast of 'Aiyaary' was preparing for the poster's release since days which prompted them to take certain steps to pique the interest of the audience. Few day back, Sidharth took off from Twitter after tweeting "sorry I am done !", which worried his fans including his co-star Rakul Preet Singh.

The actress questioned his move through a tweet which read, " Wait !! What is this ??Is everything alright @S1dharthM#SidsOffTheGrid". All his followers were questioning his sudden social media disappearance when Manoj Bajpai's magical tweet forced him to retreat his earlier decision.

Although, Sidharth returned not as himself but as Major Jai Bakshi, followed by his tweet, " Haha who said I'm off the grid? my #Aiyaary may have troubled some but I'm grateful for your support... big love."

Explaining the meaning of film's title, director Neeraj Pandey told a leading daily, " Aiyaary has been a special project with a very exciting ensemble. 'Aiyaary' means the ultimate trickery. The word 'Aiyaary' fabulously sums up what a Soldier resorts to ultimately in the face of extreme crisis. His intelligence, sharpness and wit not only bedazzles his own troop but also earns him the respect of his enemies."

'Aiyaary' will hit the theatres on January 26, 2018 and clash with Akshay Kumar's most-anticipated 'PadMan'.
