With Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath in dangerous waters, Sara Ali Khan has reportedly bagged another film. Following the success of Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer-Hindi Medium, the makers have decided to work on the sequence.

Sources suggest that Saif Ali Khan's daughter will be seen playing the role of Irrfan Khan's 15-year-old daughter named Pia in the sequel. Notably, her mother Amrita Singh played the principal of the English medium Delhi Grammar School in the original film.

While Irrfan will reportedly reprise his role of businessman Raj Batra who aims at getting his daughter admission in an English medium school in the original, Saba will supposedly not return for the sequel due to a ban on Pakistani actors.

The sequel will witness Raj Batra as a 50-year-old fighting the setbacks of the educational system in India. Producer of the film which is reportedly going on floors in August, Dinesh Vijan confirmed to Mirror, "I have just finished the script and I am going to get into the casting now."

Saif Ali Khan's business relations with Dinesh and Amrita's connection with the original film could be the reasons for Sara being the top contender to play the role. Director Saket Chaudhary will be replaced in the sequel backed by T-series.

An industry source suggested, " The story flash-forwards by a decade so five-year-old Pia will be in her teens now, around 15-16 years. The story will be a fresh take on the Indian educational system with little reference to the original."

Sara Ali Khan's debut film Kedarnath is currently facing troubles due to the partition of main producing team of KriArj Entertainment with director Abhishek Kapoor. Slated to release on December 21, 2018, the romantic drama also stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role.
