Activist Trupti Desai, who wanted to enter Kerala's Sabarimala temple was blocked by hundreds of protesters at the Kochi airport since she landed at 4:30 am on Friday.
The protesters, who staunchly support the restrictions on women of menstrual age to enter the temple despite the Supreme Court ending the ban in a landmark order in September, said that they will not permit Trupti Desai and her six colleagues to step out of the airport. Taxi drivers say they will not take the visitors anywhere.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday gave a green signal to Maratha reservation in the state at a rally in Ahmednagar.

The Election Commission on Thursday appointed IAS officer Ashish Kundra as poll-bound Mizoram's new chief electoral officer, replacing S B Shashank after widespread protests in the state.
A notification issued by the EC said, "The Election Commission of India in consultation with the Government of Mizoram hereby nominates Ashish Kundra as the chief electoral officer for the state of Mizoram with immediate effect."

As hearing resumes in the Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) plea challenging the central government order to end the 56-year-old lease of National Herald building, Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing for November 22.

After which Vidya accidently slaps her Meera.
