RIP: Veteran Actor Shashi Kapoor Takes Last Breath At The Age Of 79

One of the most loved Bollywood's actor Shashi Kapoor passes away at the age of 79 in Mumbai. Born to the pioneer of Indian theatre and of the Hindi film industry, Prithviraj Kapoor and wife Ramsarni Kapoor, the actor has worked in many films.

The actor was suffering from ill health for quite long which worried the entire Kapoor dynasty. His sudden demise came as a shock to his entire family, leaving millions of his fans, who still admire the actor heartbroken.

Due to the constant complaining of chest infection, the actor was admitted to Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital on Sunday where he took his last breath. The actor was suffering from the problem since 2014 when he went through a bypass surgery.

Shashi Kapoor's nephew and acclaimed actor, Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news of his unexpected demise. The late actor claimed national award three times for his powerful performance for 'Muhafiz', 'New Delhi Times' and 'Junoon' respectively.

The last Kapoor from showman Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor's generation have an ever-lasting effect on his devotees who loved him with all their being. His late wife Jennifer Kendal was the co-founder of the popular Prithvi Theatre.

The heartthrob of 1970s was the proud recipient of Padma Bhushan. He is survived by his three children Kunal Kapoor, Karan Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor, who all tried their hand in acting but settled for better career options in the end.
