Mahesh Bhatt's darling daughter Pooja Bhatt made headlines in 2016 for her attempt to quit overcome alcoholism. The veteran actress has never shied away from expressing her criticism over certain dynamics of Bollywood and other critical issues gripping the nation.

Taking a jibe at megastar Amitabh Bachchan, the brand ambassador of Indian government's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative for dodging the question on Kathua and Unnao rape cases, the filmmaker reminded the actor of his critically-acclaimed film 'Pink'.

Cynically, she asked if somebody's image on the screen can reflect in reality, obviously calling out Big B over his silence on the outrageous rape cases. When asked about the issue on Thursday, Bachchan had said, "I feel disgusted even talking about it. So, don’t rake up this issue."

But when has the overactive social media geeks let an opportunity go to troll the celebrities for expressing their views without the fear of being criticised. One of the Twitter users called out the actress for using a legend's name to gain popularity, describing her as a "known alcoholic ".

The user wrote, "A seasonal insect and a known alcoholic trying to gain publicity by using the name of a legend." Another one called the old chestnut of Bollywood beauties "brainless". And Pooja is not the one to back out from hitting out at the trollers in her own unique way.

Replying to the comment, she wrote, "A ‘recovering’ alcoholic & proud of it!In a country where people don’t even acknowledge they have a drinking problem, let alone discuss it I am grateful to stand away from the crowd that considers holding your frailties to light shameful."

Recognised for her performance in the films, 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin' and 'Sadak', Pooja had come clean about her battle with alcoholism last year and commenced her journey of quitting alcohol. She recently celebrated her ten-months sobriety with her fans on social media.
