It is learnt that the film picked its title ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ from Anil Kapoor’s iconic song from his hit film 1942: A Love Story.

The movie describes the story of Sweety Chaudhary (Sonam Kapoor) and her father, Balbir Chaudhary (Anil Kapoor). Like any other girl, Sweety keeps on dreaming of her fairytale love.

But soon comes a point where her family misunderstands her 'friendship' with Rajkummar Rao as 'love' and decides to get them married.

But soon things change and Sonam opens up about her preference of love which leaves her family in shock, followed by a bitter exchange of words with her father.

It also features Madhumalti Kapoor and marks the Bollywood debut of south Indian actor Regina Cassandra.

The film is competing with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Uri: The Surgical Strike, which have managed to fare well at the box office. ELKDTAL got a mixed to positive response from the audience as well as critics.
